ABOUT THE COMPETITION

Welcome to Virdition’s 1ST Annual STUDENTS IN MOTION national online Creative Arts Competition. Talented student performers from all over the country will have an opportunity to enter and compete in this Creative Arts competition right from their homes! The STUDENTS IN MOTION National bracket style competition is open to all performers to compete in this unique online competition for a Scholarship, and Cash Prizes. Not only will the grand prize winner win a Scholarship starting at $10,000 but there will be another 73 cash prize winners in this competition. See Starting Cash Prizes Below.

ABOUT CASH PRIZES

MAIN COMPETITION ENTRY DATES ARE FROM: November 1st to January 4th, 2021

MAIN COMPETITION ENTRY- $39.00 FREE WITH YOUR SCHOOL’S PROMO CODE

In the main competition everyone is competing regardless of age or talent type to win their state with the most votes. To compete by age or talent types enter one of the Best-In categories.

(1) Grand Prize wins a grand prize Scholarship starting at $10,000.

(50) State Winners- cash prize starting at $500.00 each

(14) Wildcard Winners- cash prize starting at $250.00 each. Wildcard winners are the top 14 vote getters in the qualifying round that did not win their state. Read more about State & Wildcard winners below.

(10) Best-in Category Winners- $20.00 each, By entering one or more of the Best-In Category competitions contestants can compete for additional cash prizes that start at $500.00 each. Proceeds from the category entry fees will go directly to the teacher contestants are helping in the competition. Category competitions run to the end of the bracket rounds and the cash prizes also continue to grow throughout the competition. So even if they are not one of the 64 contestants that make it to the bracket round these category competitions give them another chance to win the cash prize in their category. *Contestants may enter as many categories that best fits them and increase their opportunities to win big! Remember even if contestants are eliminated from the main competition the Best-in Categories continue to the very end. So they will continue to have a chance to get TIPS, earn COMMISSIONS and win the cash prize in their category.

Students from PUERTO RICO and THE VIRGIN ISLANDS interested in participating can enter using the state of Alaska or a home state of a friend or family member. All children and teens must have parental consent.

NO REFUNDS OF ENTRY FEES, ONCE A CONTESTANT ENTERS THE COMPETITION AND PAYS ANY ENTRY FEES FOR CATEGORIES THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS.

ABOUT TIPS & AD COMMISSIONS

In this competition, the parents of contestants can earn money to help with school supplies and related expense by the way of TIPS and AD COMMISSIONS. By sharing their child’s personal voting page with their friends, family and followers on social media supporters can tips contestants for their performance and local businesses can purchase an Ad on their voting page. All contestants will be able to earn 60% of the proceeds when someone tips them or a local business purchases an ad on their voting page. Contestants keep tips and commissions weather they win or get eliminated from the competition in any round. Another 20% of proceeds will go to the teacher whose link the contestant used to enter in the competition. Plus another 5% of the proceeds will go towards all of the competition prizes causing all the starting cash prizes to increase throughout the competition. Remember, regardless the outcome you get to keep your tips and commissions from sponsor ads placed on your voting page. ABOUT THE ROUNDS

Qualifying Round – is a State-based competition. The contestant with the most votes determines the winner in each of the 50 States. In addition, the top 14 non-State winner vote recipients will fill the 14 Wildcard Slots. Combined, these 64 contestants will move on to the second round.

Bracket Round Winners- the 64 contestants that advance from the Qualifying round to the Bracket round of 64 will compete head to head against other State and wildcard winners. The winner of each bracket round will win the cash prize posted on each of the bracket rounds as they advance. Upon successfully registering, every contestant receives a FREE LIMITED PORTFOLIO on the Virdition platform. The portfolio is attached to their voting page for audiences, entertainment industry professionals, and people on your social media networks to view. As a contestant, your portfolio is your chance to tell your story and showcase your talent. The “Students in Motion” competition will be inviting industry professionals of major entertainment companies to look at the talent in our competition, whose jobs are to find the next big star. With that in mind, think of your portfolio as your resume in the entertainment profession and add your Bio, audio, video, and images for them to review. Learn More

ABOUT THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY

Important note- Entertainment industry professionals place a high level of importance on performers maintaining a strong following or fan base, which reflects in the performer’s overall success potential. The entertainment industry has changed to keep pace with digital trends including social media’s immense reach, and contestants need to change with it. Social media is the trend and contestants need to adopt in order to keep up. By sharing their voting pages, contestants have a valuable opportunity to actively raise awareness of their talent among potential fans and entertainment industry insiders.

ABOUT VOTING

Contestants upon registering create their personal voting page and it’s available to begin sharing right after registration. Click to watch video on “Get to know your VOTING PAGE”

VOTERS have an option to vote for free by clicking on the VOTE button. This will allow 1 vote per round.

SPONSOR AD VOTERS are people contestants know with a business or company, they can purchase, upload an Ad/logo with a website link to their company on your voting page for a minimum of $100.00. Contestants will receive $60 and you will also receive 20 additional votes for that ad. This is a great way for business in your area to help you advance in the competition, help you financially, and in return they get some advertising as you are sharing their business your voting page on all of your social media. TIP VOTERS are individuals that choose to tip a contestant for their performance; they can do this by clicking on the TIP JAR icon on the contestant’s voting page. Voters can tip contestants in increments of $5.00; every $5 tip will get the contestant 1 additional vote. Example, if a contestant gets a tip of $10.00 they will receive $6 and 2 additional votes. Click to watch videos on how to get TIPS.

LIMITS are placed on the amount of tips and ad placements a contestant can get in each round. In this competition the limits are set to $1,000 = 200 votes in TIPS and $1,000 = 200 votes in AD PLACEMENTS. We want contestants to earn TIPS and COMMISSIONS but without buying their way to victory. For example: $1,000 in Ad Placement earns a contestant $600 and 200 votes.

NO REFUNDS OF TIPS AND AD PLACEMENTS. ONCE A VOTER PAYS FOR ANY TIPS OR AD PLACEMENT THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS.

Tips and Ad placement will end for the general public a few hours before the round ends. This is done so contestants don’t wait to the very last minute load up on Tips and Ad placements.

HOW CASH PRIZES INCREASE?

The cash prizes increase because 5% of all Category entry fees, Tips and Sponsored Ad get distributed throughout all the rounds causing each prize in every round to go up. Cash prizes are displayed on the different round and category pages in real time.

HOW TO COLLECT CASH PRIZES, TIPS, AND COMMISSIONS?

To receive your cash at the end of the Qualifying round and at the end of the Competition, you have to add your PayPal account details to your competition dashboard’s MY ACCOUNT PAGE then request funds to be transferred to your PayPal account. You will find the REQUEST FUNDS LINK in your Tips and Commission report page located on your competition dashboard in your Virdition.com account. Deduction for music licensing and funds transfer fee will be deducted and shown on the Tips and Commissions report.

Contestants, Parents, teachers or schools that earn over $500 in this competition or any combination of competitions will need to fill out a W-9 form as required by the Internal Revenue Service. (IRS) We will have an online option for you to fill out and submit the form electronically. This will need to be done before payment is made to your PayPal account.

HOW TO COLLECT AFFILIATE EARNINGS?

AFFILIATES PARTNERS promoting this competition will also be able to request for their funds at the end of the Qualifying round and at the end of the Competition, you have to add your PayPal account details to your competition dashboard’s MY ACCOUNT PAGE then request funds to be transferred to your PayPal account.

JUDGING THE STUDENTS IN MOTION COMPETITION

STUDENTS IN MOTION (SIM) will not have judges judging this competition. We will consider the adding judges for our next competition. Votes will come from your supporters on your social media accounts.

QUALIFYING ROUND- 50 STATE WINNERS

This competition is totally voter based (Online Votes) so in order to move on from the qualifying round to the bracket round you have to beat everyone from your state by having the most votes (50 State winners).

In order for a state to qualify for the prize there must be 3 active contestants in the state. By active we mean, the contestants must me sharing their voting page on their social media accounts actively trying to get votes. Voting Page views will let SIM officials if a contestant is active or not. So if there aren’t 3 active contestants in that, the state will not qualify for the state prize. The leader in the that state will still advance to the next round to compete in the bracket round and be qualified to win prizes there. Be sure to check the State & wildcard leader page to see where you stand.

In the case that a state doesn’t have any contestants representing it by the end of the qualifying round then the system will select the #15 person from the wildcard list and advance that person to the bracket round. In multiple cases contestants #15 and over on the wildcard will advance to the bracket round by default but no prize will be issued.

State winners are required to send a testimonial recording of them receiving their Award Certificate in the mail with short testimonial of the competition and winning the state cash prize. From your competition dashboard you can submit a testimonial by uploading a YouTube link. Testimonials of your success will help future contestants enter competitions with peace of mind.

WILDCARD WINNERS

There will be 14 Wildcards that also get into the bracket round of 64 contestants, so even if you don’t win your state you can still advance as a wildcard. Be sure to check the wildcard leader page to see where you stand.

Wildcard winner are required to send SIM a recording of them receiving their Award Certificate in the mail with short testimonial of the competition and winning the wildcard cash prize. From your competition dashboard you can submit a testimonial by uploading a YouTube link. Testimonials of your success will help future contestants enter competitions with peace of mind.

BRACKET ROUND OF 64

Once you win your state or wildcard you will then advance to the bracket round to compete head to head against other state winners. To advance to the next bracket round you must beat your opponent by having more votes at the end of the round. By winning your bracket round not only will you advance but you will also win the cash prizes posted in that bracket round. Votes renew back to zero in each round so contestants that advance from round to round will start on an even slate.

BEST-IN CATEGORY COMPETITIONS

During the competition entry process, contestants can also compete in the following 10 Best-In category competitions for a starting cash prize of $500 and a beautiful award trophy. These Best-in Awards Categories will run parallel to the main competition and will end when the main bracket competition ends. Even if you get eliminated in any round of the main competition you can continue to share and compete in your category or categories to the end of the competition.

Category winners are required to send SIM a recording of them receiving their Award in the mail with short testimonial of the competition and winning the category cash prize. From your competition dashboard you can submit a testimonial by uploading a YouTube link. Testimonials of your success will help future contestants enter competitions with peace of mind.

LACK OF CONTESTANTS IN THE COMPETITION

If there aren’t enough contestants throughout all 50 states within the Qualifying round we can extent the dates to allow our promotion of the competition to attract more contestants. If competition doesn’t attract enough contestants the competition can be postponed to determine a new marketing strategy. If the competition is canceled or rescheduled all Entry fees, Tips and Ad sponsorships will be refunded.

WHAT ABOUT THE COST OF MUSIC LICENSING?

If the contestant’s competition submission has original recorded music that belongs to the contestant, then there is no licensing fee.

If the contestant’s competition submission contains a cover song or music that belongs to someone else:

  1. Enter the name of the song and the name of original artist that sings that song at the time that you upload your performance.
  2. Warning: If a contestant performs a cover song and claims that song as an original, they you will be disqualified. We encourage other contestants to flag any violation of this policy.
  3. Most contestants will elect to use a cover song for their uploaded performance and that is fine.
  4. Contestants will be charged music licensing fees if cover music is used with their performance. These licensing fees will be deducted from any cash prizes, tips and commissions earned. Contestants will see any music licensing fee deductions on the cash prize, tips and commission reports.
  5. Together, we are required to pay the Performance Rights Organizations (P.R.O.) the license fees to ensure songwriters and publishers are paid for the use of their music by collecting these royalties on behalf of the rights owner. You’ll appreciate this when you’re a music star!

A total of .0252% of revenue earned will be paid to ASCAP, BMI, SESAC and GMR for Licensing of cover music used.
